This Unit of Learning (UoL) was based on Paper Mache Balloons and the theme was 'My Starry Night'. Students learned the process of Paper Mache (or 'Paiper Mache') to create their 3D balloons. They also took reference from Vincent van Gogh's 'The Starry Night' painting in order to gather images of their own landscapes as reference for their own painting compositions.
This project evolved from the original UoL set out as, through my reflective practice, i noted that it would be of benifit to students to add more references to contemporary installations. Therefore the final artwork was not individual balloons per students but a group installation.

This UoL was conducted with 1st year students and is best suited to the Junior Cycle
